Ques., is it a War or Occupation?
It’s not a war in Iraq; it’s an occupation
Sen. Johm McCain is quoted as saying, “When you win wars, troops come home.” The false “it’s a war in Iraq” meme has gone on long enough. The U.S. presence in Iraq is an occupation, “not a war. You don’t “win” an occupation. You end it.
Republicans, with media complicity, use the “war” word to bludgeon those who oppose the occupation of a nation that was no threat to the U.S. Let’s end both.

Yeah, exactly. I’ve said this for a few years now. Bush declared an end to major combat operations in May 2003. We had deposed Iraq of it’s leader, taken control of it’s government and disbanded it’s police/military. Ever since that time, we’ve been occupying Iraq. And the longer we stay there, the harder it’ll be for us to leave. They want us out, they demand timetables, we need to do what they want. They have a democratically lead government, what exactly is the justification for us going against their wishes and staying?
